The Experience
The Osiris Shaft is one of the deepest and least-visited subterranean structures on the Giza Plateau.
Descending nearly 30 meters (≈100 feet) below ground level, participants pass through a vertical shaft and a sequence of rock-cut chambers beneath the Giza Plateau. The descent culminates in a flooded lower chamber containing a massive central stone platform, a feature that has long drawn scholarly and symbolic interest.
Access requires a physical descent by ladder within a narrow shaft. The experience is real, unmodified, and takes place within an active archaeological site.
On-site interpretation is provided, placing the structure within its archaeological, historical, and symbolic context.
